“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.” Carl Rogers
I work with adults and young people 16 years and over. I will listen without judgment, with empathy, care and support.
During any transitional point in our lives, it can be easy to lose a sense of who we are, what we are worth and where we are heading. I’m forever expanding my knowledge and skills. I have a particular interest in life transitions. And how adjusting to change can be accompanied by a level of stress.
Transition is change and this can feel uncomfortable. Some can feel predictable, such as moving house or getting married. Or they can be unpredictable such as the death of a loved one, or a divorce. A few common examples of life transitions include; marriage, or a new relationship, arrival of a new baby, or becoming a step parent, empty nest, illness, growing up and becoming a young adult and career changes.
This list could be endless and some markers of change can be subtler. More recent events that may have an impact are the transition out of lockdown and understanding how it may have affected us all in different ways. You may feel unsettled, stressed, overwhelmed. We can explore together the worry, uncertainty, unsettled feelings and changes that feel uncomfortable and I can guide you along this path of change.
